How to Have Massive Success

We all want massive success but are we willing to stick it out? Most people quit way too soon. Here’s what’s helped me get massive success.

Every single day I talk to women who believe that the success that they long for isn’t possible for them. They truly believe that what they want will not be actualized in their lifetime. Even though it breaks my heart, I have to say that when I take a closer look at their habits, I can see why they would think that.

Whatever success means to you, there’s no way you can have it without these two things…

  1. Keeping your promise to yourself.

If you keep telling yourself that you’re going to do something, then keep coming up with excuses why it didn’t get done…you’re setting yourself up for failure.

How many times have you said “I’m going to work out in the morning,” and when morning comes, you turn off that alarm and go back to sleep? How many times have you told yourself that you’re not going to text your ex back but time and time again you pick up the phone and answer him right away?

Sure, it sounds silly to say that just because you told yourself you’re going to do something and didn’t actually do, it means you’ll never be successful but it’s the truth.  You slowly train yourself to not trust anything that you say and your subconscious knows that you’re not going to keep your word either way.

2. Have a written down and scheduled to-do list.

I always thought this is common sense. Seriously. But every single day I meet people who keep their to-do list in their head.

How many times have you forgotten to buy the milk at the grocery store? How many times have you forgotten to wish your best friend good luck on that job interview? These are small things, I know, but it’s the small things that add to the big things. We are whole human beings, we can’t isolate our behaviors. You can’t be an honest person at work but a lair at home. It doesn’t work that way.

Don’t get all fancy and complicated here either. You don’t need a fancy scheduling app (you’re not a social media platform) and you don’t need a fancy planner that costs an arm and a leg. All you really need are index cards and maybe your phone’s calendar if you want to schedule in as a reminder. Yes, that’s right. You can get the index cards for $1 for 200 of them! Use one card a day and write your to-do list on it. You can even use it to schedule things out. If you know you have a dentist’s appointment in two weeks, take a card, write the date of the appointment on it and keep it to use for that day. It’s small enough to go in your pocket, purse, or right next to your computer as you work. Take it EVERYWHERE with you. Look at it constantly. It’s a very inexpensive and effective way to make sure you have all your daily tasks at the top of your mind!

Whether or not your own personal success, whatever that may be for you, is close or so far away, you cannot achieve anything if you can’t keep your promise to yourself right now, even in the very insignificant things. And that to-do list….well, if your success is important enough for you, you’ll write things down.

Here's the truth: if you're not willing to write it down, you're not willing to do it. Yes, it sounds silly but it's 100% true.

Putting it into action:

Try the flashcard exercise for yourself. Use one card a day and write your to-do list on it. Take that card with you everywhere. Keep it in your back pocket when you’re walking/driving and have it next to you when you’re sitting and working. Give yourself one week. If you don’t find yourself being productive and getting things done, you can quit it. And it only cost you $1. What do you have to lose? $1?
